Arc furnace transformers have distinctive specifications such as high current in low voltage side and special loading sequence. Thus, comprehension of high current behaviors such as Foucault currents, even distribution in parallel conductors, prevention of local heating and appearance of hot spots and continuous performance in short circuit condition in the beginning of melting process is highly important in designing and manufacturing procedures. Voltage regulation for this type of transformers can be supplied directly or through a booster transformer.
