Shunt Reactors:

Iran Transfo group can manufacture shunt reactors. These devices could be connected directly to network or through tertiary winding of power transformers that could be useful in switching mode or steady state mode.

Technical Specifications:

• Useful for voltage control applications in large network substations.
• Rating: ≤50MVAR
• Voltage: ≤400kV

Applications:

Shunt reactor is one of the devices necessary for effective operation of high voltage long transmission lines. Main advantages of using shunt reactor are:

• compensating capacitive reactance of transmission lines, in order to damp unexpected over voltages specially in long overhead networks with low load or long cable network
• reducing power frequency over voltages caused by load shedding
• improving stability of network and transmission efficiency and capacity of transmission lines
